In this position, you will be responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and administering Oracle databases in production and development environments. *Responsibilities:* . Install, configure, upgrade and support production and development databases · Provide day-to-day (24/7) databases support for users & application teams . Loading data into Oracle databases from files . Implementing database backup and restorations . Trouble shooting and making recommendations to database performance issues . Writing SQL, PL/SQL programs, Shell scripts and Perl programs . Working with Application teams in designing schemas, tuning SQL and improving application logic · Responsible for writing database-monitoring scripts, coming with best practices . Monitoring CPU, Memory usage, IO and other OS stats in tuning the databases · use proactive approach to identify and improve databases performance · Experimenting and implementing oracle new feature · Migrating/upgrading databases and applying Oracle patches . Able and willing to be flexible in Adapting to new technologies, processes and standards *Required Skills:* · 3+ years of Production Oracle database work experience with larger than 500+ GB in size with good understanding of oracle RDBMS concepts and overall architecture . Must have 2+ years of Oracle 10g/11g experience (Oracle 10g/11g RAC experience is highly desirable) · · Experience with Oracle 10g/11g grid control/Enterprise Manager . Must have experience with Oracle Data guard/standby · Must have 2+ years of coding experience in SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix Shell Scripting · Experience with Oracle Partitioning, RMAN, AWR/Stats pack, SQL*Loader · Experience with Net App filers and/or other storage systems · Strong understanding of database replication concepts, i.e. Data Guard, multi-master replication, streams . Proven shell and Perl scripting . Experience in high-volume and high availability databases · Demonstrated proficiency of troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis · Ability to analyze and resolve issues · Experience in deploying database changes for new database releases with minimal downtime · Basic Knowledge of Linux Operating system administration .
