*AIX Admin * *Location:  Troy, NY*
* Duration: Contract*

*Job Description:*

   - Provide midrange systems (AIX/Solaris/Linux) administration,
   management, scripting, and operational support for over 2,500 servers
   - Perform IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, and Linux Server system administration,
   including installation and customization
   - Perform Server Maintenance, Upgrades and Tuning associated with
   enterprise wide monitoring and backup software
   - Partner with and assist internal technology and business partners to
   provide root cause analysis, support and solutions on complex problems and
   configurations.


* Experience : *
5+ years of midrange server management, including OS installation, 5+
configuration, and expert troubleshooting years of experience with 5+
midrange server software installation,configuration and tuning years of IT
experience in a large environment such as a Data Center or Command Center,
or similar environment.

Qualified candidate is expected to have skills in following areas:

   - Configiure and Manage networking in AIX
   - Manage and configure VIO client partitions - Manage devices
   - Manage storage
   - Use Hardware Managementt Console (HMC) and System Direct Management
   Console (SDMC) to manage system resources
   - Perform user administration tasks ( such as limiting resources,
   creating /user groups . etc)
   - Have strong knowledge of system backup and recovery
   - Have strong OS installation and maintenance skills
   - Configuring and managing system security
   - Use Network Installation Manager(NIM), Workload Partitioning (WPAR)
   Manager and Systems Director ( base product)
   - Understand PowerVM components such as Active Memory Expansion(AME),
   Active Memory Sharing (AMS), Shared Processor Pools etc.
