*Job Summary:* Under general supervision, designs, tests, and implements Java-based web applications using industry standard software development practices, techniques, tools, and frameworks. Designs and develops complex business components in Java deploying to Java EE Application Servers. *Examples of Duties:* - Translate application storyboards, use cases and web-page concept designs into functional, dynamic web applications. - Provide estimates of level of work effort and time for completion. - Develop and unit test complex application web components. - Develop complex application business logic using Java. - Design and code, and integrate application business layer with external application components. - Create or update system documentation. - Create a System Test Plan/Scenarios for different size projects. - Demonstrate the ability to multitask. - Transfer knowledge and transition work to the team. *Knowledge and Experience:* - Use and apply technical/business knowledge on both the job and future planning of job deliverables. - Expert on Java EE technologies (specifically Facelets, JSP/JSF, JDBC, JPA, JAXB, JAXP, JAX-WS, Java EE filters). - Expert in open source frameworks (Hibernate, Spring). - Experience with MyFaces (Trinidad), Spring Web Flow, Apache CXF Web Services and MQSeries is a plus. - Experience and/or knowledge of Java Authentication and Authorization Services (JAAS) as well as Oracle Platform Security Services (OPSS) is highly desirable. - Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware, 11g is highly desirable. - Experience with Eclipse/ RSA, Rational Team concert (RTC), Oracle RDBMS, WebLogic (11g), & web services. - Familiarization with core JEE design patterns - Must be familiar with implementing standard best practices (e.g. secure programming, Java patterns, and test-first development.) - Provide expert technical mentoring on the tools used for a specific project and how to get the most out of the tools. - Provide fully documented work, instruction, and training to peers as required * * *Communication:* Individuals at this level are expected to: - Present ideas assertively, aggressively and not be easily ignored. - Be articulate, persuasive and organized in their presentation skills. - Carry themselves well in-group settings. - Listen and promote open communication upward, downward and cross-functionally. - Write meaningful complex documents such as program specifications and test plans.
