* * *Our client, in the Marlboro area, is looking for a Database Developer on a long term contract basis. * * * *Roles and Responsibilities * *Work closely with project teams and senior Business leaders. Interact with Business analysts to gather and understand data requirements. Extend the existing data model as needed to meet business requirements. Design and develop logical and physical data models following the client's s existing data warehouse naming standards and conventions. Day-to-day activities will include creating, extending and maintaining existing fact table, dimension table, coverage table, look up table, bridge table, aggregate table, Oracle views, Materialized views and Oracle Indexing. Coordinate with El and DB teams as required to meet objectives and deadlines. Provide multiple potential solutions when faced with a new complex problem. Address user questions about the data warehouse. Exercise solid judgment and ability to push self to achieve desired results. Effectively interact with peers, stakeholders, end users and technical partners. Drive issues to complete activities on time. * * * *Required Skills and Knowledge * *Education * *Baa or BS Degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field. Any additional equivalent combination of education and experience. * * * *Experience * *At least 5 years of experience as an Oracle developer using Pal/SQL, SQL Loader, SQL PLUS and other Oracle technologies on large data warehouse systems. Designing data warehouse database structure including table and index design, partitioning, and bulk processing. Knowledge of factors that affect performance within large Oracle data warehouse environments. Performance Tuning for Oracle Dabs using Explain Plan, Takeoff, HINTS in Oracle data warehouse environments. Oracle 10g and 11g. Data warehouse concepts and El Informative preferred . Solid understanding of database data modeling concepts and tools ERWin preferred . Understanding business requirements and translating that into technical database solutions. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
