*Position**: Linux Systems Administrator* *Location* *: San Antonio, TX(Locals only) Duration: 6 months* EAD GC, USC or GC only who are local to TX *Job Duties:* - Developing templates and implementing standard configurations for the PSC virtual environment. - Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the PACER Service Center applications which reside on RedHat Linux host servers including databases (such as Informix), data query/retrieval programs, 3rd party reporting tools (such as Crystal Reports and Business Objects), and systems administration utilities; - Administering routine hardware and maintenance, database upkeep, and application software installation and tuning; system troubleshooting and end-user support relative to supported applications and associated operating systems; - Ensuring all servers are configured as per the approved configuration; - Standing up new servers using clones of current systems or using the approved standard configuration; - Ensuring all systems are on current patch levels, and have the correct security settings in place; - Analyzing and monitoring systems to diagnose and correct errors in logic and coding. *Job Requirements:* - Knowledge of Red Hat Linux 5.x and 6.x system administration, performance tuning, security and management principles and practices. RHCSA, RHEL & RHCA Training/Certification is preferred. - Red Hat Satellite Server 5.x and 6.x. - Demonstrated experience with developing and maintaining configuration management at a systems level. - Custom software update management including RPM builds. - Knowledge of developing programming languages and techniques utilizing HTML, Perl, Bourne shell, and developing, administering, and tuning Informix databases. - Ability to communicate with various levels of computer users and management both orally and in writing. - Knowledge of web server administration including Apache 2.x and Tomcat 7.x and 8.x. - Knowledge of VMware ESXi 5.x/6.x and virtual server architectures and the use of cloud technologies. - Basic networking skills set (NTP, routing concepts, firewalls). - Demonstrated experience with hardware maintenance of servers and PCs. - Familiarity with the following tools is a plus: Nagios, Puppet, Bamboo, Subversion, Jenkins, Tripwire, Veeam.
