Job Description for Business Systems Analyst within Healthcare



*Summary*:      Will work with the business units to document / analyze
business data to develop system requirements.  Will participate in User
Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation.  Will also write detailed
descriptions of user needs, program functions and steps required in
developing or modifying computer generated systems by defining problems or
opportunities, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid
conclusions.  Will also assist computer programmers in resolving issues as
they relate to workflows, project specifications, and/or programming.



*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

·         Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis,
requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions,
use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

·         Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources,
reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract
up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish
user requests from the underlying true needs.

·         Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal
customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and
deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements
(Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface
designs)

·         Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

·         Strong analytical and product management skills required,
including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business
needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability
to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and
subject matter experts.

·         Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and
external customers) and the software development team through which
requirements flow.

·         Develop requirements specifications according to standard
templates, using natural language.

·         Develops work plans specifying goals, scheduling, and contingency
plans.

·         Coordinates activities of task(s) assigned to ensure progresses.

·         Knowledge of Healthcare process flows and compliance requirements.

·         Adheres to procedures for reporting and documentation.

·         Prepares status reports and keeps management informed of the
status for assigned tasks and related issues.

·         Coordinates and responds to requests for changes to original
specification.

·         Develops and maintains technical and assigned task documentation.
·         Self-starter, able to quickly pick up new tools, techniques, and
concepts
