*SR Specialist Systems Administrator * *Location: -Dallas TX * *Duration: 6+ months.* *Must be USC/GC* *Notes from Manager: * We actually have a more focused need for someone to perform archives and project migrations for our environment. We’re moving around 1,500 terabytes (TB) and this contractor position is to move that data (using a process we have) either to a new location or archiving it offline (also have a process for this) based on our customer’s (internal business team) needs. So from a skillset perspective, knowledge of general Windows system administration is good and an overall understanding how the Windows operating system works and preferably with experience in running SQL queries. As for soft skills, still good writing skills are required as we do require thorough documentation for each of these migrations/archives. *Job Summary:* The Service Line Hosting Services (SLHS) resource will provide assistance with a large project migration effort as well as day-to-day assistance, where applicable, for support related issues. The primary responsibility will be focused on organizing the data migration efforts, following the processes defined by the team, providing regular status updates on the data migration efforts, and overall ensuring that the data migration efforts are performed with the highest level of quality. The secondary responsibility will be to handle day to day operations related to tape management, Back up restores, application access support management and end user support. This will include working with the existing team as well as members of the client serving team to resolve issues. The individual should have some prior experience with the Windows operating system and SQL Server to move data safely and to run queries to update application pointers.
