Development Manager*
*Purpose of the job:* To develop, test and debug solutions using the
available platforms, databases and tools. The developer works closely with
business and technical personnel of The Hartford to assure the solutions
implemented satisfy the stated requirements. Act as a Team Lead and
provide oversight of projects and enhancement solutions delivered.
*Primary Functions and Responsibilities:*
- Receive assignment and direction from manager.**
- Lead team and business activities for solutions, provide project status
**
- Design, develop, test, support, maintain, and document Cognos
applications.
- Design, develop, test, support, maintain, and document Cognos
interfaces, using best practices.
- Document job assignment via the IT/Tracking Database, including time
spent per assignment.**
- Deliver all documentation to a BI Central Repository.
- Work with other team members to identify, develop, document, and
implement processes correcting deficiencies, improving reliability or
increasing efficiency.
- Participate as necessary in planning and implementation of Cognos
integration with other systems or applications.
- Assist in problem analysis and resolve issues related to Cognos
Decision Stream/PowerPlay/Impromptu/Access Manager and any other Cognos
product implemented in the future.
- Participate as an active member of the programming team as well as an
active member of joint teams, as prescribed by projects and manager.
- Submit status reports to the manager weekly on prescribed day.
- Follow strict SOX guidelines and procedures.

- Assist in requirements gathering when directed by manager.
- Documentation assist in writing scope documents, status reports and
technical diagrams when directed by manager.
- Performs other appropriate departmental duties as assigned.

- Ability to support/train users in the BI environment

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology
- 3-4 years experience in Cognos BI Technology
- 3-4 years experience in Database Design & Modeling
