This is a Server Appliance migration project, from an Oracle database to a
PostgreSQL database.

The current application supports Oracle and the project involves a change to
support postgreSQL.  This project will create a new team to complete the
programming necessary to make this change.  We need good programmers fast,
the two types of consultants needed:



*Java Oracle Programmer –  *

   - This person must be familiar with framework, java, oracle and SQL.
   They will convert dynamically generated Oracle SQL statements to standard
   based SQL statements. Resolving the mapping between Oracle specific
   constructs to standard SQL constructs. Strong Oracle.
   - Expert with J2EE, SQL syntax, Dynamic SQL, Hibernate.



The following is the high level tasks for these programmers and the team. It
should give you an idea on what kind the skills that we are looking for:



*Summary Description of Deliverable or Service*

1.0Convert existing SA Oracle DDL to postgreSQL DDL.  The new DDL
should maintain the same functionality and minimum performance degradation
for SA postgreSQL DB



2.0Convert existing SA base data population statement to postgreSQL
statements  The new base data population process should maintain the same
functionality and minimum performance degradation for SA postgreSQL DB



3.0Convert the existing code so the application will support jdbc
driver and connection configuration for multiple databases.  The identified
modules for this task are OI, TIU, Twist, Weblogic, multi-master replication
and others



4.0Convert PL/SQL statements in the application to standard SQL
statements

Identified oracle specific features: outer join, connect by, hint,
functions, and sequences.

Identified Modules: DB, OI/TIU, Spin, Twist, Multi-master replication and
others

The new SQL should maintain the same functionality and minimum performance
degradation



5.0Convert Oracle Trigger to Postgre trigger.  Identified Modules:
Multi-master replication and others

The new Trigger should maintain the same functionality and minimum
performance degradation



6.0Implement database export and import capability similar to oracle
data pump for postgreSQL.  Data pump is used by SA to create secondary core.
It is a replication of the main core database through oracle data pump tool.
The new postgreSQL process should maintain the same functionality and
minimum performance degradation



7.0Replace Oracle native job scheduler to a common job mechanism.
Oracle job scheduler is used in Spin and db to purge the old database
records. It needs to be replaced by replaced by 3rd party scheduler or
custom scheduler implementation

Title:  J2EE Developers (5 positions)
Location:  Warren, NJ
Rate:  $55-60/hr DOE
Length:  6 Months
 
Responsibilities: 
Responsible for the design, development and system integration for the
various Credit Data programs 
Will be working closely with the requirements team, business users to
understand Business Requirements and design, develop and test the solution 
Required to demonstrate strong hands-on skills and understanding on Service
Oriented Architecture. Expertise on caching technologies like Gemstone
Gemfire is a plus. 
Understand/develop J2EE/Gemfire based architecture 
Develop high performance application for Credit risk data 
Analyzes functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of
quality technical solutions 
Recommends solutions that are aligned with business / strategies and
complies with corporate architectural standards 
Works with other senior technical members/architects to achieve the same
 
Requirements:
Strong experience in J2EE technologies in a web development environment
(XML, XSL, Web Services, JMS, Spring Framework, SOA Architecture) 
Strong experience in FLEX development environment 
Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) in a team
environment 
Strong software design and development skills 
Basic understanding of Finance/Risk Management and Corporate Credit Approval
process
 
Desired:
Gemstone Gemfire - HIGHLY DESIRED 
Familiarity with Risk management business is a plus
