Job Summary:  The Java Developer is a member of the project team who takes
responsibility for implementing parts of the system architecture using best
practices. This will include coding, unit testing, using design patterns,
learning new technologies, and becoming an expert in one part of the
system.  The candidate will also be expected to provide technical
leadership and architectural support.

Qualified applicants must be detail-oriented, result-driven individuals who
work well within team environments and have good interpersonal skills, as
well as good client interaction skills.

*Responsibilities:*
•Ability to lead a small team of 3-5 individuals.
•Demonstrates ability to work with system owners, business owners,
technical teams, and functional teams to design, implement, test, and
validate a system.
•Meet with business and system owners to understand and document
desired system requirements.
•Work with business users to gather requirements, write functional and
technical specifications.
•Design and develop new code and/or support operations, maintenance,
and enhancements of existing code.
•Develop conceptual and technical design including use of OOA and OOD
techniques.
•Conduct multiple levels of testing including unit, system, integration
and performance.
•Effectively model organization business processes and integrate them
with existing Enterprise systems and capabilities.
•Estimate and plan iterative / agile releases
•Mentor junior team members

*Requirements & Experience Guidelines:*
•Ability to work with key owners and stakeholders to document
requirements
•Ability to learn new technologies quickly
•Minimum 4 years’ experience in system integration and development and
package implementations
•Minimum 3 years’ experience with Java and Java-based technologies
•Demonstrates ability to do technical design and development using Java
(JDK 1.5 or above) technologies including JSP and Servlets
•Is able to use integrated development environments (IDE) such as
Eclipse , Java Compilers, and build tools like Ant or Maven to develop and
troubleshoot issues
•Familiar with SQL and / or experience with database technologies such
as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
•Solid understanding of all parts of Software Engineering (e.g.
Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing) and the Software Development
Life Cycle (SDLC)
•Experience working in agile or iterative SDLCs
•Experience with Object Oriented Technologies.
•Proven leadership skills to independently manage a track of work with
3 - 5 people, during various phases of the project lifecycle.

 Java Developer design, develop, document, unit-test, implement and deploy
web-based Java applications to support business requirements. He/ she must
follow approved software development life cycle methodologies (RUP/ SCRUM)
and all processes as required from time to time.

 *A: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (**include the following. Other
duties may be assigned)*

   - Interacts with the business analysis team to understand project
   requirements.
   - Develops overall architecture/ product design documents, technical
   design specifications for individual modules and technology justifications
   for architectural considerations.
   - Ensure integration of entire system or subsystem
   - Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support to the helpdesk and/
   or maintenance team to help resolve technical issues with production
   systems by debugging, research and investigation.
   - Design and Develop Java and J2EE based web applications using Java
   frameworks as required by customer.
   - Design and Develop secure web services.
   - Create PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers and associated PL/ SQL
   or SQL database scripts as needed.
   - Develop build packages using Maven/ Apache Ant.
   - Applies Java and Oracle standard coding practices and industry
   standards.
   - Applies Section 508/ Accessibility Standards compliant software
   development methodologies.

*B: EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS*

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

* QUALIFICATIONS*

   - Experience with Java EE, *Apache Solr with SolrJ,* *Spring,* *Struts
   2, Hibernate *and *EJB *is required.
   - Experience with *BI Tools* like Pentaho, Actuate iHub, Qlikview etc.,
   is preferred.
   - Experience with *HTML 5, JS, JQuery, AngularJS, Bootstrap, JSON and
   CSS *is required.
   - Experience with *Oracle *Relational database, *SQL, PL/SQL* is
   required.
   - Experience implementing single sign on using OASIS SAML 2.0
   specifications. Experience configuring an Identify Provider for federated
   authentication is preferred.
   - Experienced in designing systems based on Service Oriented
   Architecture principles. Knowledge of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is
   nice to have.
   - Ability to work with UI framework tools like Telerik’s Kendo UI.
   - Knowledge of software lifecycle methodology – Rational Unified Process
   (RUP), Rapid Application Development (RAD) and SCRUM/ Agile methodologies.
   - Knowledge of CMMI Level 3 processes.
   -  Excellent oral and written communications skills.

o Deep understanding of XML including knowledge of XML, SAX, DOM, StAX,

o Good understanding of multi-threading, concurrency issues, IPC, caching,
client-server systems, optimization etc. (Required)

o Experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of

o Proven track record in building and deploying consumer-facing web

o Experience with building document processing flows, implementing content
enrichment, building document deduplication algorithms, indexing and
searching using Lucene is a plus

o Hands-on experience with software tools such as Eclipse / IDEA, Ant, CVS
/ SVN, JIRA, Bamboo / Hudson, profilers (Required)

o Experience working in agile development teams (Required)



*Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: *

o Supervise the design, build or maintenance of web sites, using authoring
or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools and
digital media

o Supervise the writing, design, or editing web page content

o Direct web site updates

o Review problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback and approve the
correction of problem

o Advise and direct management or development teams to prioritize needs,
resolve conflicts, develop content criteria or choose solutions

o Direct development or validation of test routines and schedules to ensure
that test cases mimic external interfaces

o Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming
practices through continuing education
