The person that interviewed for the Linux job did not do well on the webcam
interview.

We need someone that has strong Linux command experience.  Strong scripting
skills.

If they have chef and puppet it is a big plus, but if they say they know it
they will be asked to show it during a webcam interview.



*Functional/Technical Requirements (include education, certifications, and
training)*

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or an
equivalent combination of education and experience

• Solid working knowledge of Windows OS (2008/2012 R2) and/or
UNIX/Linux Systems

• 3-5 years of experience developing MS IIS web applications with
.Net and/or J2EE

• Solid understanding of security and implementing new security
requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with client side web development
technologies

• Experience with configuring and administering several Windows
2008/2012 R2 Servers and/or UNIX/Linux Servers

• Experience troubleshooting and debugging application performance
problems and hangs, including analysis of network statistics, stack traces
and memory dumps, and use of code profiling tools included with the JDK
and/or .Net Framework .

• 1-3 years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a
client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, including
technical architecture, network design, application

• 3-5 years of experience with scripting languages such as WMI,
PowerShell, PERL, and Shell Scripting (Bash, Korn)

• 1-3  years of experience administrating SharePoint or
JBOSS/WebSphere/WebLogic/Tomcat application servers.

• On-call 24/7 rotation

• Hardware and/or Software Installations; Testing; Troubleshooting;
IT Systems Management; Performance Measurement and Tuning; Business
Continuity; Physical and Logical Security; Systems Lifecycle; Change
Control; Systems Software Infrastructure

Linux - system administration and scripting (how much experience with each
and what type of scripting?

Java - performance tuning and troubleshooting?  (client may be flexible on
the java exp)

Automation (DevOps) –
Chef/Puppet/Ansible/GIT/TFS/Jenkins/Artifactory/Release Automation  (Which
of these have you used for more than a year?)

Programing – Ruby/Python/Powershell/Bash (Which of these have you used and
for how long?



*JOB SPECS:*

Performs proactive monitoring and performs complex evaluations of
systems.   Provides optimal technical solutions and coordinates efforts
between various cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and stability
of web applications.  Coordinates both the business and technical needs of
the customer to meet the business needs. Serves as critical part of new
deployment projects.



*Primary Duties / Responsibilities:*

• Monitor backlog of open tickets and determine trends and
opportunities for improvement; provide periodic status reports.

• Responsible for the day to day administration and availability of
systems and applications.

• Under guidance of senior engineer, support and optimize the
existing applications to meet the business requirements.

• Monitor performance, disk space, and usage for all servers that
support the system.

• Partner with other IT departments to ensure data and systems are
available and performing within SLAs.

• Partner with other IT departments to ensure that supported
applications are well integrated within change management and release
management.

• Follow the company change control process to implement system and
applications changes.

• Coordinate daily troubleshooting efforts for business users

• Support the ongoing relationship between Citrix IT and the
customer/business unit.

• Perform duties associated with build of environments for  PROD/DR

• Meet with application owners, as directed, to overview any system
and data problems; recommend solutions.

• Coordinate and perform monthly outage weekend and quarterly
disaster recovery tests.

• Coordinate with system vendors to resolve systems issues in a
timely manner.

• Ensure 24/7 availability and manage critical incidents; serve as
point of escalation; troubleshoot issues to full resolution.

• Ensure the environment is current on service pack, patches,
firmware updates, versions, and security fixes.

• Communicate task and status updates to team leaders and managers.

• Assist other teams as needed.

• Coordinate IT resources for the purposes of supporting projects
and enhancements.

• Perform continuous reviews to align technology to process,
process improvement, and adherence to standards and best practices.

• Document and adhere to Sarbanes Oxley Controls

• Provide recommendations to projects for integration requirements;
identify modification needs for the Integration architecture to accommodate
project.

• Partner cross-functionally with business leadership to gather
requirements and deliver technical solutions.

• Define, implement, and standardize  monitoring.

• Set up proof of concept environments to stay current on the
newest technologies.

• Be a technical leader in all phases of the systems lifecycle,
from inception through development, testing, and post-release support.

• Analyze requirements and review detailed design docs and
functional specifications.

• Contribute to architectural roadmap for product enhancement
implementations.

• Participate in the evaluation and selection of hardware and
software technology and product standards, as well as the design of
standard configurations.

Qualifications (include knowledge, skills, abilities, and related work
experience)

• Must be able to work independently and as a contributing team
member

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook,
InfoPath, Visio, SharePoint, and Project

• Technological knowledge of five or more of the following:

-In-depth knowledge of IP networking

-In-depth knowledge of Server security

-Knowledge of Certificates

-General knowledge of Citrix Products

-General knowledge of database architecture and concepts
