SQL DBA positions
Experience: Senior-level
Positions: 3
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Start Date: 1st week of January
Interview: face-to-face required
Duties/Responsibilities
. Lead SQL Server software installation, maintenance and
conversions: SQL 2008
. Perform database security configuration and administration
. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies
. Perform logical database design and physical database
implementations
. Create, test, and conduct performance tuning on SQL Server
databases
. Create, test, and conduct migration scripting and implementation
of SQL Server instances
. Develop SQL processes for data loading, migration and application
interfaces
. Create deployment scripts, including rollback scripts, for all SQL
Server changes
. Develop and enforce organizational SQL standards and best
practices
. Work with the database engineering team on aspects of database
design including tables, views, stored procedures, permissions, etc
. Adherence to SDLC standards and vision.
. Other duties may be assigned.
Skills:
. SQL Server installation and maintenance
. T-SQL, SQL and scripting
. Backup and recovery point, clustering/mirroring/replication
. Database design and modeling; as well as creation and tuning.
. Stored Procedures/Triggers
. Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC).
. Vendor evaluation experience preferred
Candidate must possess the following qualities:
. Highly organized and self disciplined
. Strong analytical and technical skills
. Ability to manage competing priorities
. Ability to meet frequent deadlines
. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
. Excellent problem solving skills.
. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
Required Background/Experience
. 8+ years experience in the database administration of SQL Servers
. 5+ years experience in the direct administration of Microsoft SQL
Servers
. 8+ years experience in database programming using T-SQL
. 5+ years experience in ETL, a minimum of 3 with DTS/SSIS.
. Experience implementing internally developed and vendor based
solutions
. 1 year minimum experience in MS SQL 2005, Reporting Services, SSIS
and preferably SSAS
. MS SQL 2008 is a plus
. Exposure to Data Warehousing is a plus
