*PRIMARY PURPOSE:*
As a member of the *Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set* (*
HEDIS*) reporting team, develop and update various HEDIS measure source
codes in SAS language to support Quality Improvement, Utilization
Management, Medical Services Departments and the company as a whole.
Perform data extraction, loading, verification, error investigation,
debugging, documentation and reports generation in a client/server
environment of Window-based Server, SAS Server and MS SQL Server.
*MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: The Design,
documentation, analysis, creation, testing, and modification of new SAS
program source codes and modifying the existing ones as needed. Ensure
strict adherence to NCQA HEDIS Standards and all programs meet audit
requirements.

REQUIREMENTS** (E=Essential; D=Desired):*
1. BA/BS from an accredited 4-year college with a major in business
administration, statistics, computer science, mathematics, decision support
sciences, health care, or public health or an equivalent area of study or
equivalent work experience in the health care field. (E)
2. Minimum 3+ years’ experience in SAS programming (intermediate to
advanced level) and competent in MS Access, MS Excel, and Word applications.

3. Familiar with MS SQL query generation/programming. (D)
4. A strong working knowledge of reading and understanding of
technical specifications and program statements required to conduct HEDIS
study. (E)
5. Effective working knowledge of data dictionaries for internal
and/or external files. (E)
6. Knowledge or experience in healthcare industry/health care
informatics. (D)
7. Demonstrated working knowledge of, and hands-on skills with,
database concepts and data processes required to extract data, develop
programs, analyze results and support various projects. (E)
8. Independent problem solving skills. (E)
9. Resourcefulness and initiative to independently learn concepts and
procedures within the department’s needs with minimal instruction. (D)
10. Proven and effective organization skills and interpersonal
communication skills. (E)
