Also, the description given for the commitinfo and

loginfo seem to assume that every project only has a

sub-directory that is equal to the project name. I.e.,

the regexp on the lines is '^project'. More general

would be to use '.*' instead, but I haven't tested it.

Ideally, it should explain that the first word is a

Hi,

I'm not going to make you register the project one more time. We
would like you to include GNU within your distro name.

Also, note that we will host the tools that you use to make the
distribution but not the distribution (packages) itself.

Is it truly ok for you?

To host a complete distribution, note that a hosting service like
may be way more convenient for you.

[Savannah-hackers] submission of The linuxap-EnHanced project - savannah.nongnu.org

2003-09-13 Thread kleynjans

A package was submitted to savannah.nongnu.org
This mail was sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Félix Llorente Pastora <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: The linuxap-EnHanced project
System name: linuxap-eh
Type: non-GNU

Description:
This project is a NEW small distribution derived from GNU/Linux specially from the
small linuxap distribution, that can be run under a small wireless Access Points, and
porting the beneficts of GNU/Linux to wireless world.

Other Software Required:
BusyBox, UClibc, iptables, kaodv, openvpn, hostap, cramfs, pcmcia-cs, bridge-utils,
wireless-tools.

That's all the soft we use, and of course GNU compiler gcc to compile UClibc and linux
kernel.

Other Comments:
Whe have permission from the author of LinuxAP to start a NEW distribution, and
becouse he doesn't wont to use our changes, whe have to make our way to start a new
distribution.

We have a big list of patches... but it will derive in a new distribution independent
from the original linuxAP, it will be totally fork.

We will put linuxap patched with our patches on cvs and start to work from it.

The links to get this patches are at:

http://www.olotwireless.net/castella/pinguicastellano/imagenes/flash220803.rar

and the original linuxap distribution (that we will fork):

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously
under the GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy
statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please copy a copy of the plain
text version of the GPL, available from
(http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt), into a file named "COPYING".

Additional instructions are available from
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed. To learn
why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code,
for example, go to
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously
under the GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy
statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In your case, the headers are truncated and the copyright holder is
not mentioned.

Additional instructions are available from
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed. To learn
why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code,
for example, go to
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude

Please register your project once more with the changes
mentioned above.

We cannot track projects that have been answered but not approved, so
we must ask you to register the project whenever you change the
registration. Make sure to apply all changes so you need to reregister
only once.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgement of your earlier
registration will direct you to the proper location.

Regards,

"Linux" is just a kernel of a more complex system
that we like to refer to as GNU/Linux, to emphasize
the ideals of the Free Software movement.

Would you mind changing references to Linux as an OS
to GNU/Linux?

Please register your project again and include an (temporary) URL
pointing to the source code. The description you gave when
registering will not be read by the general public. If you are still
concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by
email.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to
catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must
include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the
beginning of every file of source code. This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html. Our review would help
catch potential omissions such as these.

Please register your project once more with the changes

We cannot track projects that have been answered but not approved, so
we must ask you to register the project whenever you change the
registration. Make sure to apply all changes so you need to reregister

[Savannah-hackers] Toronto GUG

2003-09-13 Thread Mathieu Roy
Hi,

We created a special group type on savannah for GNU [Hurd|Linux] Users
Groups and decided that all this kind of projects at savannah will
have a gug- as prefix for their system name.

Is that ok to turn thug into gug-thug?

[Savannah-hackers] cvs admin -m

2003-09-13 Thread Luc Teirlinck
Does one need to be a "Project Admin" to use csv admin -m?

I usually do all my CVS using the Emacs VC front end and am not really
used to command line CVS, so it is possible that I did something
stupid, but other people at Emacs-devel seem to believe that the stuff
below should have worked. I have write access, but I am not a
"Project Admin".

I did:

[bash2.05b.0 ~ 3 1] cd emacscvsdir/emacs
[bash2.05b.0 ~/emacscvsdir/emacs 3 2] cvs admin -m1.283:'(install-arch-indep,
u\ninstall): Add SES manual.' Makefile.in
Enter passphrase for RSA key '[EMAIL PROTECTED]':
cvs [server aborted]: usage is restricted to members of the group anoncvs
[bash2.05b.0 ~/emacscvsdir/emacs 3 3]

(My Emacs CVS stuff is in ~/emacscvsdir.)

Sincerely,

Luc.

So we should probably add a prefix to GUG system name, like
gug_$namepicked.
It's pretty harmless and helpful.

That seems good to me. But please use a dash, rather than an
underscore. We should avoid underscores in file names and such.

Microkernel for small microcontrollers, with limited ROM and, mainly, RAM area.

This microkernel introduces a new paradigma of microkernel programming, because it
does not provide context saving. Each task must ends before a timeout. It is a kind of

Re: [Savannah-hackers] Invoking log_accum for Emacs

2003-09-13 Thread Rudy Gevaert
I spend the possible time to spend on trying to get this to work
yesterday:

It did not work.

I made a commit to the following branches:
- MAIN (a normal commit), I believe you call this the TRUNC
- EMACS_21_1_RC
- lexbind

I did not make the requested mailinglists but let the commits go to a
personal emailaddress. I did not receive any commit mail for
EMACS_21_1_RC. I let the commit for the MAIN branch go a personal
email address and to emacs-commits. For that commit I didn't receive
any mail too and the mailinglist neither.

Shouldn't the tag be "EMACS_21_1_RC" in stead of "RC" in the file that
invokes log_accum? I did not find an RC branch.

I'm going Monday on holiday till Saturday, so I'll continu to work on
this the 22th.
