Follow-up Comment #1:

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah. While
doing so I have noticed a few problems which are described below.

Firstly, in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under
the GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements
at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10
lines long.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed. To learn why a
copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Secondly, is the copyright holder referred to in the copyright notices, a
legal entity that can be assigned copyright? If not, you need to add the
author(s)' name(s) instead.

Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for
more information, and update your files.

Thirdly, the address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-1301 USA

Please update your license notices.

You can find some background and a possible migration script at
https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us
with an URL to an updated tarball of your project. Upon review, we will
reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's
web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the
registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such
replies.

Regards,

Stephan

 Description:
I would like to register Macaroni Linux which aims to be a USB based distro
with a possibility of being extended for other storage devices. Differently
from other distros such as DSL or knoppix, Macaroni will use a new 2.6.x
kernel which also provides better support for USB. The distro can be
installed with two different kernels and the installed one will support
initramfs and will manage the installation from within itself.
A package manager system is planned to be provided and coded although at the
moment there's not one line of code but only the idea to combine the XML/bash
or XML/perl.
Macaroni Linux gets its name by the curious penguin which I casually found
while browsing the web at this address
http://www.gilesorr.com/photography/200606/200606.20060615.5260.GO.Nikon5400.html
and I loved the funny motto by Giles Orr: "Macaroni Linux, the distro with
dreads". Finally I want to add the reason why I'm doing this work and why I
want to share it with the GNU community. I'm doing a computer science degree
at Bari University (Italy) and the head told me that I have to do a USB linux
distro, just that, no more details. I choice GNU cause I couldn't choice
anything else without considering me a retarded.

 Other Software Required:
base system
Xfce
Xorg Server

 Description:
Arcon Group! is an assocation of individuals who have made common cause to
create some Free Software for everyone, which members are from all over the
world. We like to promote a community spirit amongst those who contribute to
and use our software. Years of practise and gained experience let us
introduce you as good as it is possible applications. Ambitious members of
our crew will help you with a pleasure, to solve any kind of problem. We want
to introduce our offer and give you opportunity to get familiar with it.

We think that world of computers is not going exactly in right direction. Our
mission is to promote reliable, safe, fast and generally well designed and
implemented software. It will help people to avoid crashes, data loss,
viruses, trojans, and other effects of security vulnerabilities. We would
like to make people trust software they are using. We are going also to
convince programmers to optimize their code, use proper algorithms, design
patterns, error handling and obey standards.

Our point of view and other concepts highly relay on Free Software and Open
Source Software. It gives people possibility to study the code, find security
holes, and generally trust it. Since we use a lot of this kind of utilities we
generally promote and support this community.

* We want to help both - advanced users and those who aren't computer
experts.
* Our goal is to solve each, even hardest reported problem.
* We support Free Software products (mostly related with Linux /
Unix-like systems).
* We are creating free software and helping in development of existing
projects. Everything what we did is available for free.
* High quality of our products is most important thing for us, we always
do everything with this idea in mind.
* We support all our products on our WebSite, Discussion Board or via IRC
Chat.

Actually we have 2 projects:
1) Cinay OS
2) Gentoo Linux Portage Overlay

== Cinay OS ==

Cinay is an operating system and environment originally based on Linux. It
branched in 2007 in order to develop a radically different approach to
concurrency, SMP, and most other kernel subsystems.

CinayOS belongs to the same class of operating system as Linux, BSD and is
based on the same UNIX ideals and APIs. It main goal is to provide a desktop
operating system that's fast, stable and easy to use. We want to build an
operating system that meets most requirements desktop users have, like easy
installation of software or sharing an internet connection.

What is it?

CinayOS is going to be a multi-year project. It will take a lot of groundwork
to even approach the goals we outline here. By checking our various goal
links, you can bring up position papers on various aspects of kernel and
system design which the project hopes to accomplish.

First and foremost among all of our goals is a desire to be able to implement
them in small bite-sized chunks, while at the same time maintaining good
stability for the system as a whole. While the goals are not listed in any
particular order, there is a natural order to things which should allow us to
advance piecemeal without compromising the stability of the system as a
whole.

Caching Infrastructure Overview

Our goal is to create a flexible dual-purpose caching infrastructure which
mimics the well known compressed caching model over a broad range of
configurations. It is the introduction of a new level into the virtual memory
hierarchy. Specifically,
