Re: Dell OptiPlex 755 and SL7.3 LiveDVD Installer

Have you tired the normal installation DVD, for example SL-7.3-Install-Dual-Layer-DVD-x86_64.iso, instead of the LiveDVD? Does the Install
DVD boot correctly?

successfully. Does anyone have any ideas for getting SL7.3 to install
to this computer? Boot flags or something to the installer DVD? Is this a bug?
Let me know the commands or info you need to help with this.

Re: connecting to wireless network

Hi,

SL6 maybe does not support your wireless device. Have you tried SL7 instead?
SL7 normally supports more recent hardware than the older SL6.

this in the SL6 Live tool, so I can't get started.

Re: Creating Live CD

2014-03-15 Thread Urs Beyerle

Hi Yogi,

If you are familiar with kickstart scripts, it should be hopefully easy to understand the SL LiveCD scripts and adapt them for you needs. Please note that the
SL LiveCD scripts are modular.
With livecd-tools you don't create a LiveCD from a running system. A LiveCD is created similar to the procedure that is used to install automatically a system
with kickstart.

I recommend that you have all software available over repos. For example
sl65-live-NONPAE.ks is used to replace the standard SL kernel with kernel-lt of
elrepo.

More info can be found here:

Re: encryption of root filesystem

2014-03-10 Thread Urs Beyerle

Hi,

I have to admit that I don't know, if this is possible. You can have an
encrypted /home stored on a flash drive using livecd-iso-to-disk.
I only remember one email asking for an encrypted / on
liv...@lists.fedoraproject.org
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/livecd/2011-October/006936.html

Maybe you want to ask once again on
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/livecd and report it back to
this list.

Thank you Matthieu but it looks like only flash-plugin is there.

Adobe discontinued the Adobe Reader 9 for Linux in June 2013 and has not fixed and will not fix any further security issues in it. Therefore it makes totally
sense to remove it from their repo.
