librart_lgpl is listed as deprecated on EPEL's package admin - looking in the
repo's the package no longer seem to exist:

  Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, security
  Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
   * epel: mirror.bytemark.co.uk
   * sl: ftp2.scientificlinux.org
   * sl-security: ftp2.scientificlinux.org
  Available Packages
  libart_lgpl.i686
 2.3.20-5.1.el6  sl
  libart_lgpl.x86_64
 2.3.20-5.1.el6  sl

If I force EPEL as the only repository:

  Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
  epel/metalink
|  19 kB 00:00
   * epel: mirrors.coreix.net
  Setting up Install Process
  No package libart_lgpl available.
  Error: Nothing to do

Even with a conflict, yum should be smart enough to figure out which is the
most recent version in 99% of cases. What kind of breakage are you seeing in
your kickstart process?

has any one else noticed all the duplicate packages in EPEL

2013-06-09 Thread Paul Robert Marino
In the last few weeks I have noticed a lot of duplicate packages in EPEL
which are included in the base OS this breaks kickstarts and updates
through spacewalk.

here are just 2 tickets I put in today

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=972490

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=972490

has any one else noticed these or any others if so lets get them all
reported.

I don't know about any one else but I would hate to have to delete packages
every morning in perpetuity to ensure all of my kickstarts and updates work.
