nvidia-xconfig: unrecognized option: --twinview

2014-09-19 Thread James M. Pulver
I have a new SL6.5 install, with nvidia drivers installed for a quadro 600 with
2 DVI out ports. I am trying to re-enable both monitors, using my trusty:
nvidia-xconfig -twinview

but I get:
nvidia-xconfig: unrecognized option: --twinview

Invalid commandline, please run `nvidia-xconfig --help` for usage information.

What's up? Any idea how to have twinview work, or what command replaced it? The
help output seems to just omit that sort of functionality altogether...

Any ideas?

Have you tried going to System -- Preferences --Nvidia X Server Settings?

RE: nvidia-xconfig: unrecognized option: --twinview

2014-09-19 Thread James M. Pulver
I am remote from the computer and do not have access to the display. But I did
find out I needed to reboot after installing the nvidia driver to USE the
nvidia driver, so I’ll let the user report back if it “just works” without the
twinview option now…
