New kernel 2.6.32-220.2.1 has audio problem with VLC
I use VLC to play/stream audio. With the previous kernel 2.6.32-131.21.1 all playback is clean. With the new kernel it has static when running with the latest VLC version, but plays fine with kaffeine. I reverted ti 2.6.32- 131.21.1 and the problem went away. Nothing else is different between the runs. Could this be an ALSA driver problem? FWIW, this also affects videos played on VLC.
Cluster File System (CFS) support
Does anyone know if SL 6.x supports the Cluster File System (CFS)? I'm trying to answer this for someone on the LinuxForums.org site.
Re: OpenGL driver not correctly installed? Which driver for nVidia 280?
I agree with Mark Stodola about nVidia. In any case, Brian's problem isn't with nVidia, but Wine. You need to install the Windows OpenGL libraries for Windows games that need them to operate with Wine. Go to the WineHQ website for more information regarding this problem. As I said, it isn't a Linux problem, it is a Windows/Wine problem.
