The aspell-en package from epel fixes this by adding the required
dictionary but that's, ah, a little lame.

No, but implies similar issues in other packages.

No, it doesn't seem to be.

pspell_new(): PSPELL couldn't open the dictionary. reason: No word lists can be
found for the language "en". in testspell.php on line 9

It looks like php is deprecating pspell now too and wants people to use
enchant instead but shipping a broken module isn't exactly user
friendly.

Thanks for the link - I noticed something similar in the Fedora relnotes.
Unfortunately webmin/virtualmin seem to require aspell (unless one can ln -s
/usr/bin/hunspell to /usr/bin/spell and expect them to work the same way as
aspell?)

Regardless, the EPEL package is making virtualmin happy. Thanks,

Josh

Looks like there's an aspell-en in epel.

That and aspell-sk are the only ones I see there, but maybe that'll help.

aspell dictionaries

2011-04-07 Thread Trutwin, Joshua
Upstream seems to have removed aspell dictionaries (e.g. aspell-en) from el6
(they were in el5) which I need for setting up webmin/virtualmin.

Is there a recommended way to install these other than going directly to the
source site or downloading the el5 RPM? I checked the dag repo and didn't seem
them there for SL 6.

Thanks!

Josh
