it was kind of weak. But I am pretty sure the imposter would have gotten away

That's what I said! The explanation is that the President does play
a lot of basketball. I'm still not okay with it, but as you point
out, it's in its 4th printing.

Stereotypical intent could be implied but there is also a tactical
strategy. Obama is a lefty who is comfortable going to his right.
These are not common characteristics. If he is tossed a basketball,
he will catch it and dribble to the right with his left hand. Almost
ninety percent of the free world would dribble right with their right
hand and 90% of the remaining 10% would dribble to the left with their
LEFT hand.

Why not do something the bracelet he wears? Alien crystal in a wrist
watch! S.H.I.E.L.D. made cufflinks! Anything. Why a basketball?

Purposeful Intent? Probably not but damn.

You're telling me that in a world where you have super-intellects like
Reed who could create a machine in 5 minutes to determine a person's
identity, mystics like Dr. Strange who could whip up a spell, mutants
like Wolverine who can SMELL an imposter, mentalists like Xavier and
characters like Spidey who have been shown to be highly intelligent and
gifted in chemistry, the best way he could come up to figure out who
was the real Obama was to play him in fracking basketball? When he has
people like the aforementioned characters on speed dial?

My comic store has been trying to get me to buy this ever since it came out,
and I've instinctively resisted.

Now I know why. Martin shall pass.

That's what I said! The explanation is that the President does play
a lot of basketball. I'm still not okay with it, but as you point
out, it's in its 4th printing.

rave, I can still manage that with teleportation. There's a lovely place I have
in mind in the South Pacific, almst as remote as Easter Island and not nearly
as well-visited... ;-D

Number 36: I had my own mini-Heroes marathon last night - finally
watching the "Dying of Light" episode from 10/20 and "Eris Quod Sum"
from 10/27 - and I have found my new favorite super power (next to
teleportation) I wanna to be a Puppet Master! (what I wouldn't give
for a ability to purse my index finger and thumb together and to be
able to silence anyone!).

So far...of the limited episodes I have seen...I like the rebooted
comic bookish panache of the show. The evil patriarch (the great
Robert Forster) rising from his sick bed was uber cool).

By the by, Heroes, with actors such as Malcolm McDowell and Forster
has one of the more accomplished casts on television.
