They almost had a nuclear war with Pakistan. They also have several other smaller conflicts going on with Northern India, and Eastern India that are talking about separating. They are culturally and ethnically different than the bulk of Indian society. Sort of like the ethnic people that live within China that has been getting press lately. [scifinoir2] India to develope its own OS?
http://www.boingboing.net/2010/05/12/india-to-develop-its.html The Indian IT ministry has floated the idea of developing a made-in-India operating system to reduce the national dependence on foreign software and increase resilience to viruses and IT-based attacks.
Re: [scifinoir2] India to develope its own OS?
This is interesting. They already have the bulk of the IT industry on home soil. Not mentioning a couple of power house development companies. (like Sybase) They could pull it off.
