IFC shows it once in a while, but they have been shying away from showing
too many movies with subtitles lately.

I looked it up myself, saw where they departed from the original. I admit that 
I wasn't moved to watch the original, even when it was on IFC the other night.

that is what the quotes are on IMDB. I think that they started out making a 
remake then got lost along the way and decided to do something else.

  Did anyone see this film? This movie bounces somewhere between bad cop 
film and a twisted pulp fiction wannabe. There are some moments in the film 
where it gets just weird. Hallucinations of iguanas being one of them. Its like 
they were intentionally trying to make it into a cult film. 



Nicholas Cage's wooden policeman was hard to watch at times. Even harder when 
he was under the influence.

Anyone else see this film?

Even the original was a remake. The original was a remake from a French
film that was just as gritty.
