Re: [scifinoir2] Re: "Threshold" Marathon on SyFy Today
I hear you. You know, it's sad, but SyFy could fill the airwaves with reruns tossed in with new shows, and I'd be happy. Think about it. Though we all lament so many fine shows canceled, we could do worse than having those shows rerun all the time. After all, I know you and I, at least, grew up in the pre-cable years where we spent *years* watching endless reruns of the only stuff available: Star Trek, Twilight Zone, Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, etc. I could do worse than watching constant reruns of TNG, Voyager (sorry Martin!), Enterprise, Jericho, John Doe, Dresden Files, Farscape, Space: Above and Beyond, BSG, Millennium, Threshold, Invasion, Surface, Tru Calling, Jeremiah, and others. It'd be better than having to deal with wrestling, crappy Saturday movies, and all that Ghost Hunters crap. How in the name of all that's holy is it Ghost Hunters not only doesn't die, but has spawned and International *and* a training academy series?! What gives. - Original Message - From: "Kelwyn" To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, May 13, 2010 5:08:32 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [scifinoir2] Re: "Threshold" Marathon on SyFy Today Darn it all - missed it! Re: [scifinoir2] Re: "Threshold" Marathon on SyFy Today
Same here. I've sometimes fantasized about having a lot of money--Bill Gates level--and what I'd do with it. Along with charitable donations, building inner city pools and rec centers, and owning every copy of every Star Trek ep on DVD, I'd love to finance series finales. I'd love to grab the original actors, writers, and directors, and throw a few mill at them to get finale movies or finale seasons, in order to tie up loose ends. Some shows I'd finance: Tru Calling - a final season to let Tru deal with her Death counterpart, and the fact her dad killed her mom as his opposite. John Doe- a final season (maybe half one) to determine who he was, what was his purpose, and how he could escape his past. ExoSquad - how is the human-Neo Sapien war going to end? What was up with the signal that seemed to come from aliens? Can humans and Neo's ever live together in peace, and would idiot Mankind get a clue about the unintended consequences of enforced servitude? Enterprise - I'd love a final season sans B&B to explore more of the cool themes they'd tackled, like the start of the Federation, the Romulans, etc. Oh--and I'd completely redo that *horrible* series finale and somehow save Trip! Surface - a season as humanity tries to save itself from the emergence of those leviathans. Could that dopey kid and his pet sea monster provide the means to salvation? The Dresden Files --how about a couple of seasons just to have a chance to do anything? Sad it was canceled. I could go on, but the complete list might even tax Bill Gates' dough if all financed... - Original Message - From: "B Smith" To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, May 13, 2010 2:39:46 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [scifinoir2] Re: "Threshold" Marathon on SyFy Today I'm still ticked that Threshhold and Surface never got proper endings. --- In scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com , Keith Johnson wrote: > > i hear ya! > > - Original Message - > From: "Martin Baxter" > To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Thursday, May 13, 2010 12:18:31 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern > Subject: Re: [scifinoir2] "Threshold" Marathon on SyFy Today > > > > > > > Keith, I've been trying *not* to watch, because I'm on something of a roll > (stopping now only for a special e-mail delivery) and I don't want to be > distracted.
