[Scottish] Samsung N150 Netbook for Sale
Hi folks, I've got a black Samsung N150 netbook here for sale. It has a 1.6GHz Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive. It's running Ubuntu 11.04 just now - the wifi (RealTek chip btw) and backlight controls don't work perfectly out of the box but work fine upon installation of two packages from a ppa. I only bought it two months ago from a PC World Outlet and it's in near perfect condition - I just don't really have much need for a Linux netbook. I'm looking for around £100 for it - pickup from the southside of Glasgow, or I could possibly drop it off if you're near Glasgow Uni. If you need any more info just drop me an email at j...@jackd.org, or I'm Jackster on IRC. ___ Scottish mailing list Scottish@mailman.lug.org.uk https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/scottish
Re: [Scottish] Broadband advice
I'm with O2 and so far I've had a great experience - very speedy, very stable and great customer service. Be are also worth a look - same network, owned by the same company, they just provide different packages. As far as I know opinions on Virgin Media are mixed - some love them, some hate them. Re: [Scottish] Tonight's Talk/Meeting?
Sounds good to me, although have there not been a few meetings like that which haven't really gone anywhere? Re: [Scottish] Can you recommend an ISP
I would agree with Hamish, Be is excellent and if it's available on your exchange you should definitely check it out. Or alternatively if you have an O2 mobile check out O2's LLU packages, they're pretty much the same as Be since they use the same network, just cheaper for existing O2 customers. Re: [Scottish] I have a virus
I think it's pretty safe to assume that if it's infected your friend's computer (assuming they run Windows) then it won't have affected you. Besides I'm not really sure if there are that many Linux viruses in the wild, and one's that hide in .doc files would probably target Windows users. -Jackster :) On 23 Apr 2007, at 07:33, John Gordon Ollason wrote: Greetings, I received a panic phone call yesterday evening from somebody who told me that she had sent me an e-mail with a virus attached. I had received the e-mail, and opened the attachment, a .DOC file, with OpenOffice 2.0 working under Fedora Core 4. Can I have harmed my system by doing this? I don't think I can, but I'd be grateful for some reassurance.
