Re: [Scottish] New to Scotland

2005-09-22 Thread Sandy Dunlop
Hi Adam,

Our meetings are on the last thursday of each month, so our next meeting
will be next week on Thursday, September 29th.

Some of us usually gather at the Counting House
http://glasgow.openguide.co.uk/wiki/Counting_House, before moving onto the
official meeting at Strathclyde University's Livingstone Tower.

I've always found http://www.s1jobs.com is good for looking for local
jobs, and if you're in the #scotlug IRC channel on
freenode.nethttp://freenode.net,
you'll ocasionaly hear people talking about jobs that are available.

 Hi all...

I just moved to Glasgow with my wife from the US. She will be studying
Veterinary Medicine for the next five years, so I thought it would be good
for me to introduce myself to the community.

Also, if anyone knows of any good jobs or resources in Glasgow for a linux
(and perl, rdbms, etc...) guru that would be great.

Whenever the next meeting is, I look forward to meeting some of you.

 Thanks!

 -Adam Batkin

Is it just me, or are all mails to the list that are GPG signed getting

Re: [Scottish] Cat 5e

2005-05-24 Thread Sandy Dunlop
I'd find one very useful as I'm about to move to a new flat (Glasgow
harbour, hopefully) and will require to lay a lot of cable. I'm
currently living in the west end, so picking up is no problem.

I have 4 (actually 5 but keeping one for myself) mainly full boxes of
305m (1000ft for the oldies) cat5e cable to give away to good homes.
Would prefer to give one box each to 4 individuals but if there aren't
enough takers someone can have more. Stick your hands up if you want
one and can collect from the west end of Glasgow.

 Cheers
