[Scottish] BBC Master Compact

2010-11-10 Thread Jason Irwin
I have a BBC Master Compact (with monitor and printer) sat in the loft and
needing a good home. From memory it does not boot correctly (I think it
might be a disc controller issue) but I've not had a chance to check it yet,
will try and do so this w/end.

Free to collect, Southside Glasgow.

Cheers,

J.

I remember as a kid poring over copies of Micro User and gazing longingly
at the BBC Master Compact. I was fairly certain at that point that it was
the sort of computer we'd all be using in the future. I never got one. I
can't get to the Southside of Glasgow. All my dreams are shattered :-P

I live north of the river. Do you want my BBC master? :)

The word 'yes' springs immediately to mind, if it's for sale!

I'd actually been thinking of getting one for my kids so they could play
around with BASIC...

If you're actually *in* Glasgow, and just not able to get to the
southside, *and* you're not in a desparate hurry then I could pick it up
on my next excursion to the Deep South. Over the next week I'll be in
and about Polmadie a few times.

Err, or I could drop it off if it comes to that. So long as "north" doesn't
mean "Aberdeen". :o)
It either goes to someone here, on eBay or the bin.

I still need to fetch it down and check the state of it, it may have
degraded further after being in the loft.

Wow, I'm potentially swimming in Masters. Thanks to everyone for offers of
machines and carriage thereof. I think I'm right in thinking that Mr
Rimron's non-Compact might be the best bet, as it's the one that actually
works? I'm not sure my DIY skills stretch to replacing disk controllers...
