Re: [sdre-l]: lyric duplication? very close!

2002-10-08 Thread josh

actually, there is an even better one. He uses some of the exact same
lines on an lp2 song that he used later on 'call me steam'. "call me the
sand" yadda yadda yadda then something about "strange preomenade with
eyes closed". i can't even think of the song, but listen and see. kind
of cool.

i'm guessing it was intentional, and i've always assumed it to be implied
that everyone noticed that. i know i certainly did, instantly. (which is not
an attempt at making any less of your claim of realizing it now.)

in "pillars," jeremy mentions walking and talking "in circles." i've always
thought these two things to be along the same lines of just blatant - but
still somehow very kickass - references to old songs.

wow. i think i was about 3 when i last posted to this list. this is probably
a good thing.

has anyone else noticed that jeremy sings fairly
similar lines, very similar WAYS on two different
songs?

j'nuh from LP2:
"call me something at all this time"

guitar and video games from How it Feels:
"tell me something you'd tell a fool"

reading them, they're not terribly similar looking,
but if you listen to them both, they sound so freakin'
similar! didn't jeremy or the other band members
notice this when they recorded G&VG?!

please tell me somebody else has thought of this! -earl
