SD> O2 Sensor Question

Do all the single, 3 and 4 wire sensors put out the same signal for the 
same readings?  I am just curious if I add a 3 or 4 wire unit to my 85 
SC if it will tell the LM what it needs to know, but make my a/f gauge 
more accurate.  Thanks!
