SD> A rare (late model) Shelby Dodge FS

2007-01-24 Thread David Salamone
I just spotted something interesting on eBay. There's a accident damaged (but
fairly affordable) 1999 Shelby Durango #195 for sale. It's at item #
140078574297. It's located in Pennsylvania and it would make a cool tow
vehicle for your Shelby Dodge's.

It's clear by the photos it's got significant damage and set up as a
repair/rebuild project, but at the bottom of the ad copy it's got some generic
disclaimers that they probably should removed for this particular ad listing.
When you see the pictures you'll see why the following wording on the bottom
of their ad is pretty funny.

"As with most used items, they are not perfect, so please expect normal wear
on the item."

I saw that Shelby auction the other day. It looks like it would be something
for a body man and no one else. It almost looks like it may have been stolen
for that much all around damage. the plus is that it's supercharged. Wasn't
that kind of a rare option on that vehicle. I thought I read that not a lot of
them came that way. Although I also read that there aren't a lot of parts to
fix the supercharged engine if you ever do have problems.
Someone bring this one back from the dead.

Subject: SD> flywheel

I bought a new crankshaft and installed it. When installing the
flywheel, I
don't have the mark I put on the old one and I turned it in as a core a
few
weeks ago. Do you suppose tho line up the timing mark at o degrees
at TDC
or at 12 degrees at TDC? Cars a 89 daytona shelby TII/555.

Thanks Larry

  Larry

the bolt holes in crank and flywheel can only line up one way.so you are all
set there. on static set up before firing the engine line all the timing marks
to 0 after warming the engine up (one fan on/off cycle) unplug the coolant
sensor. this is when the 12 degrees comes into play.

If memory serves me it was converted by Mr Norm's associates at the
Performance West Group and distributed by one of the original Shelby
authorized Dodge dealers- Fitzgerald Dodge in Laconia, New Hampshire.

I think most the traditional supercharger parts are still available except
for maybe the more unique "signature" pieces. Performance West would be the
people to talk to.

Definately. It's a great looking ride and they sold for big $$$ when new.

They should be advertising if it`s supercharged. It would definately help it
sell. Not all of these are supercharged.

Dee Snyder of Twisted Sister. I remember seeing the Ebay auction. I think the
thing went up twice on ebay.
