Hi All Thanks for all the info. The starter on my 86 GLHS has TURBO written on it? I've haven't pulled it yet but I can see it has TURBO written (sticker) on the case. I had thought the turbo units had a little more insulation in the solenoid and/or armature to deal with the extra heat? I have a Rebuilt Bosch Starter for sale. Totally rebuilt with new solenoid. $75.00 plus shipping (Or I will be at Turbopalooza this weekend) Same one from NAPA is $124.00 plus a $45 core charge. I got my bosch rebuilt unit for $70 at murray's discount auto parts with a lifetime warrenty... I had an old starter with me to match up to make sure it fit (like I ALWAYS do at discount auto parts stores) so I also got out of the $25 core charge.. even has a heat shield built on! it really seemed like a brand new one when I stuck it in there! what ever came stock on a 1986 Dodge Omni turbo is the exact same for the 86 Shelby GLHS Omni.. there really isnt that many replacement parts that were that specific..
