SD> FS: Rebuilt 568 with Shifter, Cables and Free shipping & Handeling
Hi all, One last Christmas deal before the day is upon us. The last offer I'm making before the holiday with delivery before Christmas. 1990 small spline 568 transmission. Rebuilt with new bearings, seals, shift fork pads and a 4 pinion differential and also includes a shifter and cables $750.00 sold outright and also includes free a drain plug, shipping container and free shipping in the lower 48 states. If you want to upgrade the Differential you can add either a Future auto block & clutch posi unit. Like a Phantom grip but also has clutches for added load holding over just the block unit or a Quaife, your choice but no OBX because this requires a Hybrid transmission setup. Add an additional $300.00 for the Future auto unit or the Quaife for $1100.00. If you want this transmission payment must be made in full to me by the 15th of December and the transmission will ship before Christmas and should reach you by then also depending on shipping loads at the peak holiday time. I have the Future Auto and Quaife in stock so there is no waiting for them to be shipped to install. Email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) for all inquires on this transmission. It's glossy and wipes/washes clean easily, yet is slightly flexible to withstand rocks and resist chipping. The floorpan looks amazing, and it's hard to believe that it was rusted and full of holes. All the dents in the hood and roof are gone, and they did this by fixing the metal itself instead of using bondo. In fact, the car had a lot of bondo on the front end (was apparently in an accident before I bought it), and they sanded all the bondo off and fixed the underlying sheet metal. - Chris **See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop000304) ___REMOVE-FOOTER-WHEN-REPLYING_ ShelbyDodge mailing list ShelbyDodge@imagilist.com http://www.imagilist.com/mailman/listinfo/shelbydodge

Re: SD> A Shelby Dakota mystery
Dave, I can offer this information having owned Shelby Dakota #2 and servicing others when we delivered them new to customers and later for return service. This truck is not a Shelby Dakota just from the VIN alone. The '89 Shelbys had VIN's that showed the correct engine application that year and the 8th position of the VIN would have been the letter "Y" for a 318 V8 and not the "X" that's there for the 3.9 V^ the truck has. Cliff Ramsdell In a message dated 1/20/2008 11:05:08 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: A local friend of mine told me he spotted a 1989 Shelby Dakota in a local junkyard. He was able to grab a handful of unique parts that were left on it. I went out there with him today to check it out and what I found was quite unusual. First off the body was in excellent shape with the red paint still looking reasonably good. The Shelby decals (of which I'm quite familiar with :) were erased (or polished off) only leaving only a phantom image effect where they used to be on all the areas they should have been. The only decals that were not used or removed were the black overlay decals over the rear tailgate "Dodge" letters. The front grill, nose & foglights were was missing and the places on the bed where the light bar would be had holes where it was previously mounted. Here comes the unusual part, upon a closer look we discovered that red was not the original paint color, instead it was black. We found the original black paint on the inside of the doors (my friend got the damaged outer panels), under the upper section of a replacement bedliner and under scratched sections of the paint. Otherwise it gave the appearance of a "real" 1989 Shelby Dakota since traces of most of the unique items were still intact except the steering wheel which was replaced with a burgundy stock version. It has a badly faded windshield decal which was hard to say whether it was original due to it's heavy deterioration. Here's a couple more very unusual details. It did not have the special "modified by Shelby Automobiles" decal on the inner door jam next to the original one. The original one was pretty faded out so that I could only make out the manufacture date of 11-1988. The other main unique label (which I was hoping to cut off and keep) was the underhood emission/vacuum label. It wasn't the special Shelby Automobiles version (label #CS1282) that shows a 5.2 liter 318 engine. It read as a 1989 Chrysler label for a 5.9 (360 engine). Another huge surprise was under the hood. The engine was still intact and looks pretty original, but it was NOT the 318 V-8 that should have been there it was instead a stock Chrysler 3.0 V-6 instead. It was also using the regular V-6 radiator fan instead of the special low profile dual electric fans the Shelby Dakota used. There wasn't alot of paperwork left in the truck but it appeared to be used by someone that did house painting in Lakeland, Florida. I did write down the VIN number so someone could do check it with the list of numbered Whittier built vehicles for me. It reads 1B7FL66X7KS073267 I had someone run a CARFAX report and it spent most of it's life in Lakeland, Florida followed by Melbourne, FL before being retired here to the junkyard here in Jacksonville. It's pretty unusual (and expensive) for someone to replicate one and unless he bought a reproduction decal package from me since it's extremely hard to find a NOS bedside decal being they've went completely out of stock since before I opened in 1997. Most likely it was a well done clone, but I'm thinking that it could have been some kind of a Chrysler (Shelby) pilot or prototype vehicle. At Whittier they did alot of experimentation creating mocked up versions of upcoming models to try out paint & decal schemes. It would pretty unusual to see one this far from the west coast but it could happen. Anybody know anything about this unusual truck? SD> NOS TIII, '86 GLHS parts, New Performance parts & Tons of used TIII & GLHS items
Hi all, A phone call a few weeks ago lead me on a trip to a big stash of turbo Dodge and Shelby parts. I brought home everything that could be loaded into a minivan and still need another trip. >From what I could see in the boxes as I loaded thing up there are a bunch of NOS Spirit R/T and '86 GLHS parts, tons of aftermarket new and performance items and even more used stuff for TIII and L body cars. As I sort thru all this stuff I will list about 25 items or so every week on ebay here _http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZmopartek_ (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZmopartek) so save this link. People ask me but I have found that ebay works best for selling items because I start everything out low ($1.00 to $5.00 usually with no reserve) and it sells for what it sells for and that's it. No emails about how I'm priced too high and it's not really worth that much. I have no idea what I have yet and won't know till I open something up and take pictures to list but from the big stuff there is a lot of very nice and very hard to find items here along with some nice stuff that's great to have extras of. So, keep your eyes open every week on late Sunday evenings for new stuff and it looks like this could take 6 to 8 weeks just to go thru what I have now. Re: SD> 5 Speed Tramsmission Fluid
Howard, Either is a good choice. The 5w30 motor oil will work if your going to change it a lot and the Redline MTL is a good long term addition with better additives for the life of the transmission. Don't use a synthetic motor oil like Mobil 1 and such as it's not compatible with the syncro operation of the transmission and can cause grinding. Cliff Sebrings R/T was Red and was 02. His was not the first one, that was 01 and was a White R/T. Both of the first two cars has a solid quartz interior as opposed to the silver and stripes found in all the others along with full length overhead consoles. The 1st car was floating around the Chicago area some years ago but I lost track of it. Cliff Ramsdell Is this Cliff Sebring's old R/T? I remember it had a really low build number 0002 or 0003. SD> FS: TII Radiator, Brackets & lower hose
Hi all, Happy holidays. While cleaning my garage for the Nesdac Christmas party I found a radiator that was tucked away for quite a few years. This is an '87 to '89 TII radiator for the Daytonas, Shelby Lancer, Lancer Shelby cars along with any project you may have that is running the "G" body rad/cooler setup. Radiator was done with a 3 row core for great cooling, an upgrade from the stock 2 row radiator. This radiator has less than 400 miles on it and is 100% perfect inside, some pushed over fins on the outside but nothing wrong with it. I had this TII radiator recored for my TIII powered wagon and only used it for two or three months before changing over to a 3 row L body radiator because of the air flow going around the radiator and not thru it and it allowed me to move the fan over to the drivers side for clearance. Price is $250.00, comes with both intercooler brackets and a correct TII lower hose, includes free fedex shipping, this offer is good till Xmas as I could use some shopping money. Re: SD> 1987 Shelby Lancer help with vin decoding
Jason, To see the VIN on the block is a little tough but it's there on both the block and transmission. You will need to pull the air box and intercooler hoses off the car along with the air box bracket. On the drivers side of the block, below the head and above the transmission is a machined pad and it will have the last 8 or 9 digits of the VIN number of the car. While everything is off the VIN is also stamped into the transmission case on a raised pad, it will have the last 8 digits of the VIN there too. It's between the right of the top forward transmission bolt and the shift cover assembly. Re: SD> no compression in cyl 3?
Another thing I had seen in the past were burnt exhaust valves. Remember that 0 compression isn't usually a rocker off, it requires something to be open, valve, seat dropped, big hole in the middle of the piston, etc. I would do a leak down test and see where you pressure is going.
