We are very happy with the following simple cloud setup:

 - AWS linux machine
 - jenkins
 - jenkins has xvfb plugin installed
 - jenkins runs sikuli from java API wrapped in junit tests under maven
 - sikuli tests are recorded to mpg file with avconv

This results in regular junit reports with a video of each test. Very
useful and works like a charm.

If you are bound to the windows platform you have a challenge to make a
windows jenkins slave and keeping it happy with a virtual monitor. I
have done this before in another project. I got it to work but it was
much more tedious and sensitive then the above linux setup. Tech detail:
I had to keep an rdp session alive from the master jenkins machine to
the windows slave machine, just to keep the virtual monitor alive in the
slave. This, by the way, made it also possible to record the test to a
video ;-)

@tombrus
Thanks for this very valuable information.

With another contact I had lately, I already got the impression, that I
should invest something into a Jenkins environment, to support the
testing and building of SikuliX.

I plan to start with Mac 10.8 (master on MacMini, slave on headless MacMini
accessed via ssh).
Any tips or advices, that might help me to get on the road?
You might contact me privately (https://launchpad.net/~raimund-hocke).

@RaiMan:
The main challenge will be to get a (virtual) mac screen up on the headless
slave. For the rest my approach above would do the trick I guess. The xvfb
would probably work (Mac is linux after all) but it will not give you a genuine
Mac desktop but an X11 desktop. I do not know how a MacMini behaves when no
monitor is connected, there is a display card so there might be a screen from
the software point of view

In addition to my previous post: a step I did not mention is to start a
window manager on the xvfb screen, I use fluxbox. I start it for every
test and kill it when the test is done. This should ideally be a feature
of the xvfb plugin, I guess. This again is not relevant for your MacMini
setup.

Just googled a bit, you could use a dummy HDMI plug (http://www.fit-
pc.com/web/products/accessories/fit-headless/) to force a certain
solution. The description of this device suggests that without anything
in the HDMI port the MacMini will switch to some basic resolution:
Works well to force 'headless' Mac mini into higher resolution. If
that is indeed the case you might have an easy job!

Keep us informed!

PS I wish I could run virtual Macs in AWS. ;-)
