The important thing to remember is to *WASH*, *RINSE*, and *RINSE*
again thoroughly, several times. You want to be starting with clean
and uncontaminated glass.
You should rinse and rinse with distilled water NOT plain water.
It makes a difference. Take Care
Eyup. That's what I said a little further on...
2) wash with soap or detergent ...
3) thoroughly rinse with tap water to remove the soap,
4) finish with at least a double rinse of distilled water,
Suppose I should have emphasized that a bit more. g
Yep, I missed the second line it's very important.
Unless you're concerned that tap water will contaminate things with
stuff that the distilled will not happily remove.
The conductivity of the water makes a difference when making CS thus
the end results will be different if the conductivity of the water is
different when you start. In order to keep it more uniform you have
to rinse every thing with distilled water 2-3 times. That pulls off
any impurities in the glass left by plain tap water or anything that
has come in contact with the glass.
Try this if you have a TDS meter. Rinse the glass once with plain
water then poor in distilled water and check it with the TDS meter. Do
the same thing again and rinse 2-3 times with distilled water then check
it with the meter. The distilled water has what I call a leaching action
where it pickes up every little thing that is deposited in the glass.
Take Care
