CSOT - dementia updates
I was wondering if there are any updates from those who were using the blue dye to help the mind with remembering in those with dementia? It has been some time since this has been discussed on this list and I was wondering how the effects were holding up. I have a friend I would like to recommend it to for her Mom if it is working well for others. Thanks. PT
Re: CSOT - dementia updates
I don't remember this discussion at all -- and it's vitally important to me, as my brother is dealing with dementia. So I hope that whoever has this information will please share it. RE: CSOT - dementia updates
If you go to the archives and put in dementia you will get quite a bit. The dye is methylene blue and one person had good results with DMSO. I hope what you find is helpful. Hi MA, I vaguely remember and my computer is presently crashed so can't search. A couple other things that could help. The essential oils of both lavender and bergamot have a calming effect on some dementia patients. And a doctor whose husband has Alzheimer's had heard of a study using virgin coconut oil as a better form of brain nutrient. for dementia patients. There are a series of youtubes chronicaling his progress when they began their own experiments. Apparently, the brain cells affected can no longer feed properly on glucose and thus are starving, but VCO's lipids DO feed the cells and there's noticeable improvement in functioning. I also remember an article by Dr. David Williams about using niacin given every 3 - 4 hrs during the day as being helpful re: dementia. I also remember an article about the use of virgin coconut oil given throughout the day helping dementia. You can probably google for info.
