and Mike, I'm familiar with Herx.   We lost a mare who was under  going 
treatment for EPM - Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis-- and also received  all 
shots and a dewormer - in one fateful day and lost all neurological  
reflexes, and had to be put down.   Yep ... I'm not into a lot of side  
effects, on an already compromised horse.

I am pretty confused, now.So, will I risk side effects  giving this to 
my mare w/ melanomas in her mouth?  She has no visible ones  outside, just 
inside, making riding her w/ a bit an issue.   The vet  and dentist are 
coming out on Feb 12th to do her teeth, sedated.

Dentist could not get into her mouth, and no way will she take a  bit.
She found melanomas in the mouth, and I cried.
 
What exactly is the protocol for treatment, and please also disclose side  
effects to watch for, contraindications, and so on.

It is not cancer - they're benign melanomas, as much as we can tell.   Vet 
is coming to examine and sedate her for dental floating.  she came to  us 
this way in may 2009, when I rescued her.  She is doing well, in  recovery for 
founder, is rideable, etc, and feet are growing out nicely - she is  on a 
strict diet plan by Dr. Eleanor Kellon, a nutritionist and a natural  trimmer 
are all caring for her :)  
 
i will post to let anyone know the progresssion.  You can't even see  them, 
in the mouth, she just wouldn't take a bit or the float files. . .

Is there a way to get the locations?I think I'll just  have to buy some 
nearby, here, and then purchase the unit --- earlier this year,  I got a
