I have a serious case of sleep apnea. Never thought of nebulizing cs as treatment. Considered omron nebulizer for just general lung treatment (am former smoker and mother just diagnosed with emphysema and lung cancer). New ultrasonic omron has a metal screen that vibrates and propels the liquid. I was concerned the metal screen might be aluminum so I called the company to inquire. After speaking with several levels ofservice reps it was finally determined that the screen was a metal alloy of undetermined makeup. Question: 1. Does anyone know whether themetal mesh screen is made up of aluminum??? My mother also has alzheimers--concerned about the aluminum connection. 2. I also asked the difference between ultrasonic and regular nebulizers, the answer was fuzzy-can someone explain 3. Is the new omron ultrasonic safe--anyone have one?

Hi, Wendy,
Sleep apnea and snoring are too different animals. With the sleep apnea your husband isn't getting enough breaths or air in him, so he's not really sleeping/resting, which will result in weight gain. I've heard of people wearing oxygen masks at night.
Snoring could be allergies. My husband took allergy shots some years ago, and his snoring/sounds were greatly reduced where he's actually quite quiet now. One time he got really loud again, the doctor tweaked his allergy shot formula and he was almost instantly quiet again. We also noticed his migraines became nil so he stayed on thetreatment longer than most.
It's quite possiblenebulizing the CS could help either one. Others have reported allergies clearing up on CS.So, just experiment on him. :))) You can get the nebulizerson ebay, some of the cheaper units are just older medical units.
Take care,
Cindy
