Re: CSD3 fro Flu Prevention

My naturopath has me on 5000 IU of D3 daily here in Alaska, even in the
summertime with the sun out all day and night. She indicates that the body
doesn't absorb all the D it needs from the just the sun. I haven't
specifically talked to her about H1N1. However, the 5000 IU's are supposed to
be effective in keeping me free of normal flu. I have been following this
regiment successfully for about a year without a flu. No, I do not intend to
get any flu sots.

Well, I had not seen any recommended dosages, and had read that 15
minutes in the noon sun will produce 40,000 units, and that once you
have that amount the conversion shuts down. So I figured that if I got
to 50% of what the sun produces, it should offer me pretty good
protection, and still be 50% below any possible toxic level. I could be
off base. I was surprised to see others are taking about 1/5 that
amount, so I may back down (well actually since the capsules are 5,000
each, I cannot back down to below that amount until I get some lower
dosage ones).

Are you dividing your dose or taking it all at the same time?

I have not heard of anyone taking 20,000 iu? Is that an idea
you just decided to try or did hear of it somewhere? Just
 curious.
