CS and TDS 1

1999-06-10 Thread Michael Giammarino
Just got a TDS 1 with my CS pro unit.

Some are using it to measure the ppm of CS

When I put it in a solution of CS, My numbers are coming up low.

Like about exactly the ppm measured before making the CS and I can see the
tyndall effect so I think there is more particles then when I started

what do you think?

Mike

If you are measuring CS Pro colloid, you may measure much lower as CS
Pro units are designed to make a colloid, not a solution. Colloids are
much less conductive than solutions. Other HVAC cs makers may make
smaller particles (depending on the setup and the operator) and the
conductivity readings will be much higher for the same ppm.

Better to use your tds to measure the water to start with, to make sure
it is good. As some on the list will remind us from time to time, TDS
meters do not tell you the ppm.

U. Don't shoot, but, did you take the cover off of the sensor
probes?
