Yes -- that's what I mean by local -- health food stores, co-ops, specialty stores. Not Krogers, Walmart, etc. You can frequently find it at feed stores. We can also get it here at an Amish Market. And one antique store that carries Amish products. And -- of course -- from bee keepers that don't pasteurize their honey. Re: CSMuscle spasms :more input, FWIW
I'm just getting through shingles, and there's a thing called post-herpetic neuralgia which is gnawing muscle spasm that feels like rats are eating their way into my back. Nasty stuff. Years ago, I read Pain Erasure, (Bonnie Prudden was involved in its publication. It posited the issue of trigger points: areas of 'dead', damaged muscle, surrounded by other muscles working overtime to compensate. I think, no matter what the initial cause for the original muscle problem, this could contribute to the other issues later on. They mentioned finding the trigger-points (easy: when you hit a knot of excruciating pain, that's one!) Then press with an elbow into that knot (awful, simply awful) gathering pressure for a few minutes until it's completely unbearable and then, just as gradually, easing up on the pressure. This allows blood flow to reawaken the 'dead' spot and help it begin to restore itself. I tried this this weekend and though it was the last thing I wanted to do, I could feel warmth and energy and an nasty itchiness return to what had been a nightmarish pain. Now the scale of pain is ramping down, slowly. This is not to say that mag. and pot. and whatever else you do isn't VERY important, but just to suggest that a mechanical help might be in order too. I wish anyone with this sort of pain the very best of recovery as it's truly wretched and makes life very difficult. Just sitting here, writing this, is making it all attempt a comeback! Hi Lena sorry your having the discomfort you mentioned. i have been aware of trigger point for years but many of my cramps are a knotting around my rib cage and the diaphragm are so herd to facilitate there. Gary Is It just under the rib cage? Right side is Liver which could be damaged from drinking and the left side would be the spleen. I had both when I was a truck driver and it was so severe I could hardly shift the gears. That was before I found out I had Lyme disease, once I stopped the Lyme with CS the problem very slowly went away. Then press with an elbow into that knot (awful, simply awful) gathering pressure for a few minutes until it's completely unbearable and then, just as gradually, easing up on the pressure. As a retired bee-keeper, I recommend one always try to buy local honey, as it will contain the best flowers and grasses that surround your daily life. I think you have to buy it locally to buy it at all. I've never seen raw honey at the grocery store, have you? Most honey nowdays, especially from China, is not honey at all but corn syrup with flavoring and color added. I haven't dealt with muscle spasms all over, but have dealt with muscle spasms in my legs and feet for many years -- mostly at night. I have resolved this problem with a vinegar/honey combination as follows: Mix one tablespoon organic apple cider vinegar with the mother in it, with one tablespoon of raw honey -- in 4 ozs. of hot water. Drink down -- for me, right before I go to bed at night. I learned about this resolution for acid indigestion/heartburn -- which it resolves very well -- but the side benefit is the elimination of muscle spasms. Which was a welcome surprise. You can take this during the day, as well, and I don't think there's such a thing as too much. I hope this helps you. Your magnesium levels may be low, I have had good results with muscle spasms using Natural Calm magnesium powder. Yep, I've heard people telling me for years that it's a potassium deficiency but I've always treated mine with a magnesium supplement and that's always done the trick. It might be potassium in some people and magnesium in others. I know what you mean - I think about drinking water and drink tea instead! it simply is not the same tho! Let me know if it helps! And it needs to be non fluoridated water, or you'll need to take borax to counteract the fluoride! Jane Ok Jane i will! i drink too much coffee and not enough water. Thanks!!
