CSPotassium / Iodine
-- Original message from John Plumridge bollyb...@yahoo.co.uk: -- In Asia, IRS tends to differ slightly in symptoms to the west , with greater frequency of irritation higher up in the abdomen. IRS varies a good deal. I'm sure you know this. Not only does IRS vary, but causes are thought to be 'unclear'. It is an epidemic in the West, has been for quite some time, and increasingly so in newly developed Asian economies. IRS, John? As in Internal Revenue Service? CSPotassium / Iodine
Hiya Leslie, I started the 5% Lugol's (I think last Monday?). I've been taking 2 drops (today 3 drops) in about 4 ounces grape juice first thing in the morning. Instructions say 1 drop in juice for a person weighing 150 pounds or less, or 2 drops for people over 150 - this is to be done 2 to 3 days per week, depending on your body's need for iodine. I have been taking it in juice every morning so far, then at night I paint on a 2% solution (order accidentally) on the bottom of my foot. If it has all soaked in, I drink my 5% drops with the juice that morning. That's why I've done it daily - the paint solution has soaked in each night, so I'm assuming I still need more. Until my nightly paint stops soaking in I plan to do this each morning, then I will cut back to 3 days per week, then maybe to the 2 times you're supposed to do it and see how I progress from there. Also, you are supposed to drink this mixture first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and aren't supposed to drink or eat anything for at least 20 minutes after. I ordered mine from. I ordered mine online from http://jcrow.com/iodine.html and I received my order really fast. If anyone knows of a better or cheaper source for the Lugol's 5% solution, I'd appreciate you letting me know your source. Since I've been doing this for a week now, I will be interested to see my blood test results from my Dr. appointment tomorrow morning (he's been treating/prescribing medication for my low thyroid and high blood pressure for about a year and a half now). The blood work results won't be back until Friday and I will be on vacation, but hopefully I can find out the results and let y'all next Monday. I am also going to try and get the time this week to research on Hashimoto's Disease relevant to low thyroid function that was suggested the other day. Meantime, any other suggestions are always greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!! Hi Ruth, Also had the Dr. check my carotid arteries in my neck since I had an ondamed machine test recently which indicated that there may be trouble there. Carotid ( and sinus and teeth ) problems. Stroke down the sides of your neck from immediately below the ear down onto shoulder/ collar bone area. I do both sides simultaneously; use the edge of hands, little fingers pointing back, palms down, but you could do what is easy for youself. Sweep gently down several times. If i encounter sore places then I may go there and circular massage for a minute until it feels softer and less congested. Applying warm, damp heat could also be beneficial. For sinus and tooth problems I start next to nose and press in 'dots' along the top of the tooth root ie under the cheekbone using a fingertip or several finger tips. And then scoop down the neck. Hah, I knew it.!! There are advantages to getting old. You don't have to have the operation. !!! Ruth, It is wonderful that you may actually outlive some of them because your intelligence is engaged. :-) Be well, Tony Moody On 15 Sep 2007 at 19:36, ruth strackbein wrote about : Subject : RE: CSPotassium / Iodine Hi, Tad, Thanks for the message re Thyroid. At first, you may barely notice any symptoms, such as fatigue and sluggishness, or you may simply attribute them to getting older. But as the disease progresses, you may develop more obvious signs and symptoms, including: ▪ Increased sensitivity to cold ▪ Constipation ▪ Pale, dry skin ▪ A puffy face ▪ Hoarse voice ▪ An elevated blood cholesterol level ▪ Unexplained weight gain — occurring infrequently and rarely more than 10 to 20 pounds, most of which is fluid ▪ Muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness, especially in your shoulders and hips ▪ Pain and stiffness in your joints and swelling in your knees or the small joints in your hands and feet ▪ Muscle weakness, especially in your lower extremities ▪ Excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) ▪ Depression I was just reading on Hashimoto's as my neighbor has it. Perhaps the synthetic hormone you are getting is not fully eliminating symptoms. I am wondering if your taking iodine is a conflict with your prescription medicine. Also I seem to remember someone who had very little Thyroxin release after having radiation treatment reporting benefit from taking thyroid glandulars, which would be the gland from an animal source. I have no actual experience with this so cannot advise, but you could google and do research. Hi, Nancy, I am not sure what parts of your message below are meant for me and what parts for someone else. I am not taking any prescription medications. The 10 preparations I am using are the result of being tested and treated with an Omdamed machine. They are all meant to help my digestion. Will write more about this sometime next week as this weekend and Monday will be very busy. Thanks, Ruth Strackbein.
