Re: CSWhole House Water Filter
These filters have a NSF certification. This is important because there are over 500 water filters on the market with dubious claims. An NSF certification pretty much guarantees that the manufacturer's claim is correct. However, there may be some filters without an NSF certification that are very effective. These manufacturers probably did not want to spend the money to get the certification. In these cases one definitely need to ask for data that certify their claim. I installed a Kinetico Water Softener to start the filtering system, with a whole house sediment filter first then water softner then whole house carbon block then an r/o at sink. works great. The Kinetico measures the water flow to recharge the tanks so water is not wasted(or salt) From: Del d...@altsystem.com To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Sunday, January 6, 2013 4:15 PM Subject: Re: CSWhole House Water Filter I answered this before (early December), as quoted below. Re: CSWhole House Water Filter
If you are only concerned about drinking water, the Multipure under sink filter is enough by itself. If you are also concerned about shower water, the Aqua Sana shower filter is very good and lasts about six months if you don’t have a whole house filter. With a whole house filter also in place, the shower filter easily lasts for a year. The whole house filter takes care of bath water and all other watering needs, including plants. Depending on your total water usage, the whole house filter is good for about five years before you need to change the activated charcoal. the company vitasalus has a great whole house filter and it lasts about 7 years with a smaller filter needing changing every six months.
