Re: CSfriend who doesn't get colds, was Re: CSCS misting

2005-12-31 Thread M. G. Devour
Thanks, Sol. That's an interesting data point. Any fillings she had
were the original, low copper variety, and have been absent entirely
for the last 35 years.

Another reasonable question, given her age, is whether she was
vaccinated as a child and/or had additional vaccinations along the way.
(Sorry I didn't think to ask that before... If you get the chance!?
grin)

I think it's no illusion that many of our oldest citizens are tough as
mules compared to this generation.

Be well,

Mike D.

 Mike,
She says she had some fillings in her young adulthood, but she has
had her dentures (full top and bottom) since her early to mid 50's. So
that would put her having no teeth since around 1970. sol

I have known her for over 12 years now, and she has not had a cold or
the flu in those 12 years, so she seems to be telling it accurately.

Sol, when you get a chance, please ask your friend if she's had any
silver fillings from the dentist. If so, were any put in since 1970?

 I'd be curious.

 Thanks,

2005-12-31 Thread sol
I'll ask, doubt she was vaccinated, as she was from a very old fashioned
Italian family. She never saw a dentist until she was 18 and working
full time and could pay for it herself. Her stepfather was a real shit,
and would not spend a dime on someone else's child. When her own
husband died shortly after WWII, she never remarried, but supported her
children and herself working as a nurse's aide. At 90 she is still
amazing. She's profoundly deaf, and now is diabetic, but still very
active, and her mind is still sharp. If you were to see us when I take
her shopping, I'm the one who moves like a 90 year old (at 59), she
leaves me in the dust.

But I'll ask, and let you know.
