This is a really good site Smitty, very helpful. I know now that my dog has demodectic mange which happens a few times a year. Luckily it is localised and I treat it with Thornit and olive oil. that's a lot of baths for a dog. On a raw meat diet my dog doesn't get any baths because he smells so good. But on a rainy day when he goes out in mud I have to rinse his paws. Yes..arthritis..allergies..dry skin excess shedding areAll helped by a raw diet. Not on ear infections...they May also be caused by sugary veggies..carrots sweet potatoes..etc..c.s. will help with the ear infectios but cdrop those out of the diet..very true of labs especialy..ten year old black lab will tell you that. - Original Message - From: jessie70 To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Friday, July 17, 2009 10:12 AM Subject: RE: CSRe: CS for dog mange that's a lot of baths for a dog. norm donatien wrote: does anyone have any experince using CS on dog mange. also mixing cs with dmso to treat dog mange? I have read a few reports from owners of CS with DMSO added clearing "mange" spots and hair starting to regrow in 3 days. But it does depend on the cause of the mange, mange mites will not be affected. But for fungal or bacterial skin problems that lead to "mange" as in ringworm CS/DMSO is said to be very effective. I don't have personal experience with ringworm or mange though. One tip I have read is to be sure to saturate the fur 1/4 inch outside/around the bald areas (at least). sol -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. Better things for mange than CS, like 20 Mule Team Borax. Wet the skin area pat the laundry soap on. It kills the mange mites quickly. C at the same time I gave antibiotics to my animals to clear the liver. The one I fear the most is rabies shots and I gave my dogs Vit. C immediately after they were given shots. Had a dog rattle snake bitten on her nose late Friday night and I had a choice. Stress her if the vet would even come to his office, or use my faithful pair. Her nose looked like a balloon. I decided to use dried garlic powder and 2,000 Vit. C, one raw egg and a bit of a temptation added to the mix (canned dog food), then a dollop of CS for good measure. At the end of 2 days and a few hours, she is all but back to normal. I kept an eye on her because I was afraid she might swell to the point where she couldn't breathe. I did spray her muzzle with CS just in case. I will continue the garlic powder, Vit. C and other things for a few more days. The last time I had a dog rattle snake bitten, it took two weeks of vetting and keeping her in a mud puddle to help keep the swelling down, before I knew she would live. I think it helps immensely to treat as soon as possible. -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
