oh, I thought it was more direct- curious because I was having a lot of
problems with cramping over the winter but it is gone now. I thought
maybe the D had a more direct effect? All I am doing differently is
being outside and lifting weights. Otherwise the diet and supps have
not changed, and did not seem to make a difference. I am leaning
towards the exercise being the deciding factor.

Sorry, it has to do with the bulk of Faith's post where she is talking
about having osteoporosis and taking calcium and magnesium for it. I
believe that you need an adequate amount of Vitamin D to utilize the
minerals properly.

Water is the only thing I have found so far to help with muscle
cramps, though I feel I should add that I have also increased my
magnesium intake to about 900 mg and am taking extra manganese.
I have had moderate to severe osteoporosis of the hips and spine for
20 or more years and in all that time have taken balanced calcium
and
magnesium in varying amounts. Currently I am taking 350 mg of
calcium
and and 900 mg magnesium. I thought I could rely on the calcium,
but it never made
any difference with muscle cramps. Faith G.
