[Sipp-users] SIP callflow saved in PCAP format -> convert to XML for SIPP

2008-12-09 Thread Jim Burns
Hello.

Are there any utilities to convert a SIP callflow saved in PCAP format
to XML for SIPP?

This would be an easy way to generate new scenarios.

Re: [Sipp-users] MAX rate of dialogs SIPp able to handle

2008-12-09 Thread Charles P Wright
It will depend on the hardware and complexity of your scenario, but 250
CPS should certainly be possible on a relatively modern Linux box [within
the last 3-4 years] for the basic UAC/UAS scenario. The number of
outstanding dialogs is mainly memory constrained, but there is some affect
on CPU. How many are you looking at. Something in the range of 100,000
shouldn't be a problem (assuming they are just pausing). This assumes SIP
only and no RTP.

The best way to see that you're past the limit is to check the
WatchDogMinor and WatchDogMajor counters, which fire if the system is
unable to keep up. If it happens too many times, then SIPp will
terminate.

Hi All
What is a maximal rate of dialogs SIPp is able to create? Is SIPp actually
able to generate traffic of 250 INVITEs/second? Theoretically, I can set a
really huge values while running it. But what are the actual numbers?
What is a max number of dialogs SIPp is able to support?

[Sipp-users] SIPp does not send response on the same TCP connection of
the request

I am testing a scenario where SIPp (V3.1) in the TCP transport mode (-t
t1) sends an INVITE, receives the 180/200 and sends the ACK, all through
the TCP connection opened for the call. Once the call is established, the
far end opens a new TCP connection to send a REFER request. Although not
recommended by rfc 3261 (18.8.1), it does allow the client to open a new
TCP connection to send a request. However, SIPp is sending the 202
Accepted using the previous connection (the one opened for the INVITE),
thus violation rfc 3261 (18.2.2), which states that

If the ?sent-protocol? is a reliable transport protocol such as TCP or
SCTP, or TLS over those, the response MUST be sent using the existing
connection to the source of the original request that created the
transaction, if that connection is still open.

Is there any way (at the command line or other level) to ensure that SIPp
send the response using the same TCP connection through which the request
was received?

Thanks,

Re: [Sipp-users] ACK can't be recognized

2008-12-09 Thread Evgeny Miloslavsky
One of possible problems is that ACK sent to the same Request-URI that
INVITE sent, while Contact at 200 OK is different

Subject: [Sipp-users] ACK can't be recognized

hi,all
  I have a new problem now.
  To simulate the end point,I import the uas.xml (it is similar to
answer_endpoint)
  what I want is like this:
   Invite:sipp1-->porxy1-->media(sip)-->proxy1-->sipp2(uas.xml)
   ...100,183,200.
   ACK:sipp1-->media(sip)-->sipp2

  now,sipp2  can't recognized ACK.actually I can get the package(ACK)
from mediaserver(sip) by ngrep.

  is there any method like ""?

   thanks

[Sipp-users] ACK can't be recognized

2008-12-09 Thread Tony Liao
hi,all
  I have a new problem now.
  To simulate the end point,I import the uas.xml (it is similar to
answer_endpoint)
  what I want is like this:
   Invite:sipp1-->porxy1-->media(sip)-->proxy1-->sipp2(uas.xml)
   ...100,183,200.
   ACK:sipp1-->media(sip)-->sipp2

  now,sipp2  can't recognized ACK.actually I can get the package(ACK) from
mediaserver(sip) by ngrep.

  is there any method like ""?

   thanks
