[Sks-devel] Debian and 1.1.5

2014-05-19 Thread Jeremy T. Bouse
Just making note that it looks like sks 1.1.5-1 was uploaded to Debian
unstable/Sid today. It doesn't appear to have made it through to the
wheezy BPO yet but hopefully now that unstable has 1.1.5 the BPO package
should be forthcoming.

technically, wheezy backports can't be uploaded until the upstream
version has moved to debian testing, which should be in a week or so.

it's possible that the backports version will also require a backport of
ocaml's cryptokit, but i haven't verified that yet.

many many thanks to christoph martin for doing the work for 1.1.5 in debian!

And the upgrade from 1.1.4 went smoothly. No issues at all.

Re: [Sks-devel] Debian and 1.1.5

2014-06-05 Thread dirk astrath

Hi,

Updated today my SKS installation from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 from the wheezy
backports - without problems.

... the only issue was the lack of diskspace for the copy of the
database during the update.

After i fixed this, the installation ran without any issues ... ;-)

Now sks.fidocon.de runs both versions: 1.1.5 on the debian machine,
1.1.4 on the ubuntu one ... ;-)

Is there a way to install sks 1.1.5 on Ubuntu 13.10? ... ;-)

(The uprade to 14.04 is planned for one of the next weekends ... ;-) )

Best regards ...

2014-06-05 Thread John Zaitseff
Hi, Dirk et al.,

> Is there a way to install sks 1.1.5 on Ubuntu 13.10? ... ;-)

Sort of: I recompiled sks for both Debian Wheezy and Ubuntu 14.04
about a week ago. Put the following in your /etc/apt/sources.list
file:

  deb ftp://ftp.zap.org.au/pub/ubuntu zapgroup-trusty main restricted
  deb-src ftp://ftp.zap.org.au/pub/ubuntu zapgroup-trusty main restricted

If you want to avoid the warnings of unsigned packages, do the
following first:

  wget -N ftp://ftp.zap.org.au/pub/debian/aptkey-zapgroup.asc
  apt-key add aptkey-zapgroup.asc

For Ubuntu 13.10, insert the above lines into /etc/apt/sources.list,
then:

  apt-get source sks
  cd sks-1.1.5
  dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -b
  cd ..
  dpkg -i sks_1.1.5-1~zg1_amd64.deb

(You will need the dpkg-dev package installed for dpkg-buildpackage).

Yours truly,

John Zaitseff
