[Slackbuilds-users] Problems with Scribus-1.3.3.12
I've been using Eric's script for Scribus for the past two years (since -1.3.3.2), and I used it for the latest, -1.3.3.12. However, there's apparently a bug introduced in this version that prevents the File - New from Template menu option from appearing. My message to the scribus user's mail list brought a response that the ./configure process does not work with this version but the CMake process does. I do not have cmake installed and have no idea how to configure and use it. I certainly don't understand why the ./configure process will not include a menu item. While I don't use Scribus regularly, I do use it on occasion, and this is one of those occasions. I'd also like to restore that menu option. Is there a way to do this with the current version or should I back up one version and rebuild that one? TIA, Rich -- Richard B. I have not upraded to 1.3.3.12, but as you can see newer is not always better. True. With office automation tools I try to use the latest release. cmake is a slackware package, so it should be no problem to install it if you need it. I think the documentation included in the source gives you directions on cmake usage. I assumed it was, but hadn't looked. Rather than futzing to get .12 working, I'll back up to .11. I have updated the script for 1.3.4, which uses cmake too. It shouldn't be that much of a problem changing the script to work with 1.3.3.12 too. Interested? Well, there is a cmake build script in the 11.0 section on SBo. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part. ___ SlackBuilds-users mailing list SlackBuilds-users@slackbuilds.org http://lists.slackbuilds.org/mailman/listinfo/slackbuilds-users Archives - http://lists.slackbuilds.org/pipermail/slackbuilds-users/ FAQ - http://slackbuilds.org/faq/

Cool :) To complete this thread, two changes were needed to the script to make it work with 1.3.3.12. Building with cmake rather than configure fixed the missing menu item. My thanks to Heinz.
