../../texmf-dist/, ../../texmf-local/, and ../../texmf-var/. Copied the
latest beamer version to ../../texmf-dist/tex/latex/beamer/.


The recommended and most easy way would have been to simply update to 
the newest texlive from SBo.
Is beamer coming with texlive really too old([2017/08/22 v3.43)? If you 
update texlive, it will be overridden again.

If you really want a special beamer version, put it in TEXMFHOME

kpsewhich -var-value TEXMFHOME
