I think this should be a configuration option in your application server. I 
personally don't use Tomcat, but I think you can configure the slide webapp to 
use https settings...

Have a look here: 
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.5-doc/ssl-howto.html. Be aware that 
the standard https port is 443, not the one mentioned in the howto.

SSL works out in front of Tomcat and Slide is agnostic to it, AFAIK!
